Firefighter Wedding

The happy couple had a destination wedding (in Tahoe) and a casual get together at home for their family and friends. They wanted a light-hearted wedding cake that played up the firefighter career of the groom. They found the figures online (even has his last name on the jacket) and he made the ladder. The cake is iced with buttercream, but the flames are fondant.

Thomas the Tank Engine Birthday Cake

This was for Conner's 5th birthday. If the little turd hadn't been born so stinkin close to Christmas, this would have been much more detailed! I stacked a bowl cake on top of an 8-inch round and shaped it some to form the mountain. That was placed on a half-sheet cake, iced in tan and sprayed with green (which ran out before I wanted it to). I had intended to make Thomas out of fondant, but time constraints made me use his wooden birthday celebration train. The tracks and rocks are fondant and the rest is buttercream. Again, if there had been more time, the scenery would have been more detailed - small trees/bushes, a few little animals, etc.

Pink & Brown Baptism

This was for my cousin's baby girl's baptism. The 10-inch is a layer each of white and chocolate with cookies-n-cream filling. The 8-inch is yellow with strawberry-cream cheese filling. All buttercream icing.

Air Jordan

The Air Jordan guy is made of fondant, painted with silver dust. The family had plastic goal and players to add to it later.

Turtle Baby Shower

The cake was meant to match the turtle bedding for the nursery. Iced with buttercream. Turtle, starfish, and shell on top are fondant.

This little girl loves Jack's Big Music Show. I just found a picture from the show online, used piping gel to transfer it to the cake, and colored it in with buttercream. I love the colors!

Bryce is obviously a big Ben10 fan. I tried to duplicate the watch for this cake. LOTS of black buttercream!
